Late Sign Up/Cancellation/No Show Policy- Late sign ups, after the deadline, will be charged an additional $25.00 to the player. Cancellation must be received 36 hours prior to the event. In the event of a cancellation, a refund/credit will be awarded back to the player minus the green fee and administration fees. Event refund/credit will be granted for players qualifying for PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour or Champions Tour events. An event refund/credit for medical or personal withdrawals after the deadline will be at the discretion of the Tour Director. A medical withdrawal will require proper documentation. Event refund/credit, regardless of reason, will not be given for players after they have teed off or for a "no show". All withdrawals that are in the form of a credit can only be used within the current season series of a future Desert Golf Tour event.Player Equipment -
All equipment must conform to USGA Rules of Golf regulations and guidelines. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
Players must wear soft spikes in their golf shoes. Golf balls used must be on the USGA Conforming Ball List.
The one ball rule is in effect at all tournaments.
Dress Code -
All players must be dressed professionally with a collared shirt and pants or shorts. Players shall present a neat appearance at all times. Players caddies must also be dressed professionally with a collared shirt and pants or shorts. No metal spikes are allowed.
Players and caddies violating the dress code will be asked to correct their attire.
Check In-
Players must check in at the registration table at least 30 minutes prior to the players tee time.
Players are to check in 10 minutes prior to their tee time at their designated tee.
Failure to start on time is a 2 stroke penalty.
Penalty for being 5 minutes late of the players designated start time is disqualification.
Caddies and Spectators -
Desert Golf Tour permits the use of caddies at all tournaments, subject to course restrictions.
Spectators are welcome, subject to course restrictions.
Spectators at no time during the course of a round may approach a player to give advice.
Range Balls -
Range balls will be complimentary at each event.
Starting Times -
Starting times will be emailed to each player prior to the tournament.
Starting times will also be posted at the host course
Second round starting times will be posted at the host course and players will also be given a phone number to call to receive starting tee times.
Ties -
In the event of a tie for first place a sudden death playoff will determine the final winner.
Payouts -
The Desert Golf Tour will payout 30% of the field at each event. Player's winnings are based on a standardized percentage scale created by the tour staff. Everyone receiving a paycheck must fill out a W-9 (U.S. resident) or W-8 (non-resident alien) Income tax form prior to receiving their check. W-9 and W-8 forms will be provided for players at registration. All Paychecks will be awarded at the conclusion of each event unless otherwise stated by the Desert Golf Tour. Players do not have to be a Desert Golf Tour member to receive a paycheck.
Cart Policy -
The use of golf carts will be permitted during the course of play.
Format -
All DGT tournaments are stroke play events. There is no cut for the 36 hole events.
Play will be governed by all USGA rules.
Rules decisions during competition will be decided by the tournament rules committee.
Players will be informed of any modifications, such as local rules, prior to the commencement of play.
Player Conduct -
Players participating in Desert Golf Tour events shall observe the applicable rules of play while engaged in tournament competition.
Players shall at all times conduct themselves in a manner becoming a professional golfer, that will not reflect unfavorably on the Tour, its members, owners, representatives or sponsors.
Players shall use their best efforts to play to a standard expected of professionals, and show respect for the game of golf. Any player who violates the provisions of this code may be subject to suspension from play, permanent disbarment, or both.
Players are responsible for any injuries to people or damage to property and or equipment which is caused by player during an event.
Conduct which is judged potentially detrimental to the individual player, tour officials, host professional, or the Desert Golf Tour, shall be subject to review by Tour officials. Abuses include; excessive display of temper, club throwing, failing to comply with club or tournament policies, action which causes hardship or embarrassment to other players, host club, tour officials or any other action brought to the attention of the Tournament Director by word of mouth or in writing.
Any member who shall be deemed guilty of conduct unbecoming a professional golfer while participating in a Desert Golf Tour event, or activities related thereto (e.g., practice rounds, pro-ams, hospitality functions, etc.), shall be subject to suspension and/or permanent disbarment from tournament play.
